Design Consulting

SR Design provides a full range of services in support of your new product development needs. We can jump in at any point of the product development life cycle and can provide meaningful value on any size of project. 

In the early design process, we can help come up with ideas using needfinding techniques, such as user observation and interviewing, and ideation techniques, such as brainstorming and mindmapping. 

If you already have a product in mind, we have significant experience in the meat of design: making products that work and sell. We use sketching, breadboarding (quick proof-of-concept models), and computer-aided design tools to develop an aesthetic and functional design for your product. Once proven out with rapid prototyping, we can develop cost of goods estimates, production specifications and manufacturing drawings. We can also help you write your patents, develop product testing plans and locate qualified vendors both domestically and internationally.

Fabrication and Manufacturing

We have experience in a wide range of product materials and manufacturing techniques. These range from the virtual (3-D CAD and sketching) to the practical. We have designed, prototyped and produced products incorporating aluminum, steel, plastic, wood, urethanes, foam, fabric, sheetmetal, concrete and just about anything else out there. Our production knowledge includes machining, injection molding, welding, casting, extruding, thermoforming, etc. We can incorporate mechanisms and electronics and develop production drawings.
